Too Corporation, a general trading company in the creative market (Head Office: 3-4-7 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo; President Gota Ishii; capital: 100 million yen; hereafter “Too”), will establish Too Digital Marketplace Inc. (hereafter “New Company”) in June 2021 as a subsidiary of Too aimed at the planning, development and provision of services related to non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which use blockchain technology.

Background and aim of establishment

Since its founding in 1919, Too has supported creators, artists and companies using cutting-edge technology of each era, and we think that the state of digital content is about undergo significant change due to the appearance of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) using blockchain technology. Images, audio, video and other digital content can be duplicated infinitely, but it is now possible to guarantee the right of ownership as a unique, once-only piece of data with each piece of digital content having a unique digital signature due to NFTs that use blockchain technology.

New Company will provide services that allow high value-added digital content to circulate as NFTs with unique value. For that purpose, Too will pioneer a venue for new activities by creators and artists, and aim to create an entirely new economic zone for creators, artists and companies.

In addition, for creators, artists and companies wanting to provide NFT content, the New Company will support the building of digital content production environments, as well as the technology and legal processing required to convert digital content to NFT format, and we will provide an environment within which anyone can convert digital content to NFT format in a simple manner.

Through our efforts with NFTs, it will become possible to add unique value to all worthwhile digital content, and for anyone around the world to possess such circulated, value-added digital content. The New Company will create a world where all people who want to produce content can be actively successful.
